Big Portage Lake is one of our favorite fishing lakes in Vilas County. This lake is known for producing large walleyes and exceptional perch fishing.
The lake is one of the clearest lakes in the area and has a beautiful sandy bottom. The public boating landing is well maintained and easy to find. With spring rapidly approaching, I suggest that you consider making Big Portage an opening day destination.
