The Gateway Lodge is one of northern Wisconsin’s most heralded treasures. This historic landmark lodge was constructed by Land O’ Lakes craftsmen nearly a century ago on the boundary-line between Wisconsin and Michigan and has hosted US presidents, celebrities, and other prominent individuals from around the world. The Gateway serves as both a peaceful sanctuary and a convenient entryway to the numerous recreational opportunities found across the area.
Recently, the popular publication Travel Wisconsin ranked the Gateway as one of the state's top five resorts. The lodge is known for its unique northwoods ambience that is projected in its beautiful lobby area (see photo above) and its distinguished dining room, which have become hallmarks that attract numerous visitors from across the Midwest.
The lodge offers 72 customized and newly renovated suites and studios, an indoor pool, a steaming hot tub, and a redwood sauna. The restaurant is one of the finest in the area and the staff is known for its prompt and friendly service. The Saturday night prime-rib special is one of the best in the area and the extensive selection of wine and beers complement any item on the menu.
The Gateway is also home to the Gateway Gun Club, one of the Midwest's most renowned skeet, trap, and sporting clay fields.
